Old Vegas is new again
Downtown is a place of humble beginnings where the rough bars and entertainment outposts that served cowboys and railroad workers at the turn of the last century grew into the hotel casinos that line Fremont Street today.
In early 1990s downtown's ambiance was forever changed with the creation of a $70 million canopy of lights and sound that enshrouds most of the historic hotel casinos and neon signs of Fremont Street, providing a seamless ceiling over a place that put Las Vegas on the map.
